14 of 20 Postseason Seeds Still Up for Grabs With 2 Games Left
The 2026 NBA regular season ends Sunday, and the seeding picture is still a mess — in the best possible way. Only 6 of 20 postseason seeds are locked in: the Thunder (No. 1 West), Pistons (No. 1 East), Celtics, Knicks, Cavaliers, and Spurs have clinched their spots. Everyone else is still fighting.
All 30 teams are in action Friday night with massive implications across both conferences. In the East, Atlanta can clinch a playoff spot and the Southeast Division title with a win over Cleveland. Boston clinches the Atlantic Division with a win or a Knicks loss. Toronto can lock in a playoff berth with a win or combined losses by Orlando, Philly, and Charlotte.
In the West, the Suns, Clippers, Trail Blazers, and Warriors are locked into Play-In spots but still jockeying for position. The Play-In Tournament runs April 14-17, with the full 2026 NBA Playoffs tipping off Saturday, April 18. Two games left. Everything matters.
