Anthony Edwards is out for 8 of the Wolves' last 10 games with right knee patellofemoral pain
Anthony Edwards has missed 8 of the Timberwolves' last 10 games with right knee patellofemoral pain syndrome — the same injury that sidelined Stephen Curry for two months earlier this season. Minnesota head coach Chris Finch says Edwards remains "day-to-day," but with just four regular season games remaining, the Wolves are running out of runway.
The 24-year-old superstar has no structural damage to the knee, but patellofemoral pain is notoriously unpredictable. Curry's recovery wasn't linear, and there's no guarantee Edwards' will be either. Jaden McDaniels is also out, leaving Minnesota dangerously thin on the wing heading into a playoff race where every game matters for seeding.
The Wolves believe Edwards can enter the playoffs healthier than he's been in weeks. But "day-to-day" with four games left isn't exactly a ringing endorsement. Minnesota is locked into the play-in range, and if Edwards can't go, this team's ceiling drops from dangerous to done.
