Anthony Edwards has the same knee condition that cost Steph Curry 27 games this year
Anthony Edwards is dealing with patellofemoral pain syndrome — commonly called "runner's knee" — in his right knee. It's the same condition that sidelined Steph Curry for 27 games this season after the Warriors initially thought he'd only miss a week or two.
There's no structural damage. Edwards is technically cleared to play whenever the pain allows it. But he's sat out 9 of the last 11 games, and the Timberwolves are clearly managing him for the postseason. The optimistic take: Edwards is 14 years younger than Curry and has a history of bouncing back quickly.
The playoffs start April 18. Minnesota just locked up a top-6 seed, so they've bought themselves some breathing room. But a Wolves playoff run without a fully healthy Ant Edwards isn't really a Wolves playoff run — he's the engine of everything they do on offense.
