Brunson's 17-Point Fourth Quarter Lifts Knicks Past Hawks 108-105
Jalen Brunson took the game over. Down the stretch against Atlanta, the Knicks guard scored 17 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, drew MVP chants at State Farm Arena — on the road — and sealed a 108-105 win with clutch free throws with 1.2 seconds left.
Then it got wild. CJ McCollum heaved a half-court shot at the buzzer that went in. The Hawks bench erupted. But after a quick video review, the shot was waved off — McCollum didn't release in time. Knicks win.
Brunson finished with 30 points and 13 assists in a near-flawless performance. For Atlanta, Nickeil Alexander-Walker went off for 36 points (20 before halftime), and Jalen Johnson posted his 48th double-double of the season with 21 and 11. The loss stings for the Hawks, who are fighting for positioning in the East's Play-In tournament with five days left in the regular season.
