Brunson dropped 30 and 13 assists — 17 of those points in the 4th — to lift the Knicks past Atlanta 108-105.
Jalen Brunson scored 17 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter — including the go-ahead pull-up jumper with 29.8 seconds remaining — as the New York Knicks survived the Atlanta Hawks 108-105 on Monday night. Brunson added 13 assists and went 6-of-10 in the final period to carry the Knicks past a Hawks team that had been nearly unbeatable at home.
The finish was pure theater. CJ McCollum launched a half-court heave at the buzzer that appeared to go in, but a quick review confirmed it left his hand after time expired. Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the Hawks with 36 points and seven threes, including a corner three that gave Atlanta a 100-95 lead with 3:15 left. Jalen Johnson added 21 and 11.
Brunson's takeover snapped the Hawks' 13-game home winning streak and gave the Knicks their 51st win — keeping pace with the Cavaliers in the East's 3-4 seed race. New York has won 10 of 13, and Brunson is playing his best basketball of the season at exactly the right time.
