The Bucks are 31-48 and Doc Rivers is basically done.
The Milwaukee Bucks' season has been a disaster, and Doc Rivers knows it. At 31-48, this is just the second Rivers-coached team to miss the playoffs in 19 seasons. And he's not exactly fighting to stick around.
When asked how much longer he plans to coach, Rivers deflected to his personal life: "I won't answer that, but I have grandkids that I want to see." He has seven grandkids, all under 8 years old. Marc Stein reports the Bucks and Rivers are trending toward either a parting or a restructuring into a front-office role.
It got worse when Rivers reportedly told his players to "Google me" during a team meeting — a reference to his championship pedigree. The room did not receive it well. Former Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins has already emerged as the leading candidate to replace him. The Giannis question looms over everything: co-owner Wes Edens said the franchise would either extend or trade him, but GM Jon Horst insists those aren't the only two options. Milwaukee's offseason will be the most consequential in franchise history.
