Bulls Finally Cleaned House — Fired Karnisovas and Eversley
The Chicago Bulls finally did what everyone has been screaming for them to do: they fired VP of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas and GM Marc Eversley.
Six years. One playoff appearance. A 224-254 record. The Jaden Ivey trade that blew up in their face. That was apparently the last straw for ownership.
Karnisovas was hired in 2020 with the mandate to rebuild the Bulls into contenders. Instead, Chicago cycled through half-measures — the DeMar DeRozan trade that led to one play-in appearance, the refusal to commit to a full rebuild, and a series of draft and trade decisions that left the roster in no-man's land.
The Bulls now need to find new basketball operations leadership with the draft approaching. Whether they go with a proven executive or promote from within, the mandate is clear: pick a direction and actually commit to it. Chicago's fans have waited long enough.
