Cade Cunningham Returns From Collapsed Lung — 13 Points in 26 Minutes
Cade Cunningham is back. The Pistons star returned to the court Wednesday against the Bucks after missing 11 games with a collapsed left lung — an injury he suffered on March 17 against the Wizards.
In 26 minutes, Cunningham scored 13 points in what was essentially a feel-out game. Before the injury, the two-time All-Star was averaging 24.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 9.9 assists through 61 games.
Here's the wrinkle: Cunningham needs to hit the 65-game threshold to be eligible for NBA awards. He's at 62 with three regular season games remaining. If he plays all three, he finishes at 65 — right on the line. Every game matters.
