Celtics Tie NBA Record With 29 Threes, Clinch East 2-Seed

The Boston Celtics put on the greatest three-point shooting display of the season Friday night — and tied an NBA record in the process.

Boston drained 29 three-pointers in a 144-118 demolition of the New Orleans Pelicans, tying the all-time record for most threes in a single game. Sam Hauser led the barrage with 8 triples, while Payton Pritchard added 5 of his own. The Celtics shot the lights out from beyond the arc, connecting on 29-of-54 attempts (53.7%).

The win also clinched the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs for Boston. After a regular season defined by their three-point dominance, the Celtics head into the postseason as the most dangerous shooting team in the league. If they shoot like this in April, good luck to whoever draws them in the first round.
