Chet Holmgren Has Never Finished Worse Than a #1 Seed in His Entire Basketball Career

From Gonzaga to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chet Holmgren has literally never experienced anything other than being on the best team. Every single season of his basketball career — high school, college, the NBA — his team has finished as the #1 seed. It is a stat so absurd it almost does not sound real.

At Gonzaga, his team went 32-4 and earned the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Then he gets drafted by OKC, misses his rookie year, and comes back to a team that has been the #1 seed in the West for three consecutive seasons. Holmgren has never had to grind through adversity as an underdog. He has only ever known dominance.

The Thunder clinched the top seed again this week, and at this point the question is not whether Chet can handle winning — it is whether he can handle a first-round exit. Because the pressure on this OKC core is building, and regular-season perfection means nothing if April goes sideways.
