Cooper Flagg Scored 96 Points in 2 Games. He Just Passed Knueppel for Rookie of the Year.

Cooper Flagg just did something no teenager in NBA history has ever done. The 19-year-old Mavericks forward scored 51 points against the Magic on Friday and followed it up with 45 against the Lakers on Sunday — 96 points in a two-game stretch that rewrote the rookie record books.

Flagg is the first rookie since Allen Iverson to average at least 45 points, five rebounds, and five assists over a two-game span. He's the first rookie to drop 45+ in consecutive games since Walt Bellamy in 1962. And every other rookie in NBA history with three or more 45-point games went on to win Rookie of the Year.

The betting markets noticed. Flagg is now the ROY favorite at -250, surging past Charlotte's Kon Knueppel (+180). On the season, Flagg leads all rookies in scoring (20.8 ppg), ranks third in rebounding (6.6), and second in assists (4.5). The No. 1 pick is making his case at exactly the right time.
