Cooper Flagg Drops 96 Points in Two Games, Flips ROTY Race

Cooper Flagg didn't just make a statement this weekend — he made history.

The 19-year-old Mavericks forward opened with 51 points on Friday night, the highest-scoring game ever by an NBA teenager. Then on Sunday, as if that wasn't enough, he dropped 45 on the Lakers with 9 assists, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and a block. That's 96 points in 48 hours. The only other rookie to ever do that? Wilt Chamberlain. That's the company Flagg is keeping now.

The ROTY race was supposed to be Kon Knueppel's. The Hornets guard led Flagg by 60 first-place votes in ESPN's straw poll entering the weekend. But 96 points in two games tends to change minds. Flagg is now the betting favorite at -250, with Knueppel sliding to +180. The final week of the regular season just became the most important stretch of both their careers.
