Cooper Flagg is the youngest player in NBA history to score 50.

Cooper Flagg just did something no teenager has ever done in the NBA. The 19-year-old Mavericks rookie dropped 51 points on the Orlando Magic — becoming the youngest player in league history to score 50 in a game at 19 years and 103 days old. Brandon Jennings held that record before him at 20 years and 52 days.

Two days later, Flagg put up 45 points and a near triple-double against the Lakers. That's 96 points in two games. The only rookie to score 45+ in consecutive games was Walt Bellamy in 1962. Flagg went from a +550 longshot to the -210 ROY favorite in 72 hours, overtaking Charlotte's Kon Knueppel.

For the season, Flagg leads all rookies in scoring at 20.8 points per game with 6.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists. The Mavs may be struggling — they've lost 11 of 13 — but their No. 1 pick is the real deal. Jason Kidd called it "the best two-game stretch I've ever seen from a rookie." Hard to argue.
