The Lakers entire Big 3 is done.
The Lakers are heading into the playoffs without their three best players. That's not hyperbole — it's literally what's happening in Los Angeles right now.
Luka Doncic flew to Spain for stem cell treatment on his Grade 2 hamstring strain. The procedure is illegal in the United States but legal in Europe, and multiple NBA players have used it to accelerate recovery. Austin Reaves is out 4-6 weeks with a Grade 2 oblique strain suffered during Thursday's blowout loss to OKC. And LeBron James was ruled out for Friday's game against the Warriors with left foot soreness.
To make matters worse, JJ Redick and Jarred Vanderbilt got into a heated exchange on the bench after Redick pulled him from the game. Redick later called it a "normal interaction," but the optics are terrible for a team that's falling apart. The Lakers clinched a playoff spot weeks ago, but right now every team in the West wants to draw them in the first round.
