Lakers Blown Out 123-87 by Thunder — Redick and Vanderbilt Get Into It on the Bench

The Lakers are falling apart at the worst possible time. Without Luka Doncic, LeBron James, Austin Reaves, Marcus Smart, and Jaxson Hayes — a combined 94.6 points per game — Los Angeles posted their lowest-scoring game of the season in a 123-87 beatdown by the Thunder on Tuesday night.

SGA had 25 points and 8 assists. Isaiah Joe drained six threes. OKC led by as many as 41 and swept the season series against LA. The Thunder have won 18 of their last 19 games overall.

But the scoreline wasn't the story. JJ Redick pulled Jarred Vanderbilt from the game just 16 seconds into the second quarter, and Vanderbilt immediately got in Redick's face near the free throw line while the coach was drawing up a play. Assistant coaches had to step between them. Vanderbilt didn't play another minute. Redick called it a "normal interaction" afterwards, but the optics of a coach and player going at it during a 36-point blowout tell a different story. The Lakers have lost three straight since Luka and Reaves went down in OKC last week. Rui Hachimura led the team with 15 points. That's where they are right now.
