Luka Doncic has traveled to Spain for an injection on his Grade 2 hamstring strain

The Lakers' championship dreams are hanging by a thread — and that thread is a 41-year-old LeBron James.

Luka Doncic has left the country, flying to Spain for a specialized injection to treat his Grade 2 hamstring strain. There's no timetable for his return, and his agent Rich Paul offered a bleak update: "We're taking it day by day." Austin Reaves is done for the regular season with a Grade 2 oblique strain, leaving LeBron without both of his co-stars.

The Lakers are still clinging to the 4-seed thanks to their tiebreaker over Houston, but their championship odds have plummeted. ESPN's latest projections show LA's title odds at their lowest point since the Doncic trade. If LeBron has to carry this team into the playoffs solo, it would be one of the greatest individual playoff runs in NBA history — or, more likely, a first-round exit.
