LeBron James hit 12,000 career assists Friday night — only the 4th player in NBA history to do it, joining Stockton, Chris Paul, and Jason Kidd.
LeBron James added another line to his already absurd resume Friday night. Early in the first quarter against the Suns, he grabbed a defensive rebound and threw a long chest pass to Deandre Ayton, who finished at the rim. That was assist number 12,000.
He's now just the fourth player in NBA history to reach that mark, joining John Stockton (15,806), Chris Paul (12,552), and Jason Kidd (12,091). For a guy who came into the league as a scorer, the fact that he's in the company of three of the greatest pure point guards ever is staggering.
LeBron finished with 28 points and 12 assists as the Lakers demolished Phoenix 101-73. The win clinched a top-four seed for LA. At 41 years old, in Year 23, LeBron is still doing things nobody else has done. The milestones keep coming because he refuses to stop.
