LeBron Drops 28/12 to Clinch Home Court, Passes 12,000 Career Assists
At 41 years old, LeBron James is supposed to be winding down. Instead, he dropped 28 points, 12 assists, and 6 rebounds on 8-of-10 first-half shooting to crush the Suns 101-73 and clinch home-court advantage for the Lakers in the first round.
Oh, and he also became the fourth player in NBA history to reach 12,000 career assists, joining John Stockton, Chris Paul, and Jason Kidd. That's it. That's the entire list of humans who've done this.
The craziest part? The Lakers are doing this without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. LeBron's record over the last two seasons without both of them: 13-5, averaging 27.6 points, 9.6 assists, on 53.3% shooting and 44.8% from three. He's not declining. He's just playing a different sport than everyone else. The Lakers will enter the playoffs as the 3 or 4 seed, and if you're sleeping on them because of the injuries, that's exactly what LeBron wants.
