Luka Dončić Flies to Spain for Hamstring Treatment

Luka Dončić is in Spain. Not on vacation — getting an injection procedure on his Grade 2 left hamstring strain, trying to fast-track his return before the playoffs tip off April 18.

The treatment involves orthobiologic injections that are more readily available in Europe due to looser regulations. Dr. Nirav Pandya of UCSF explained that European clinics can perform these procedures more easily than in the States. A Grade 2 strain typically means 4-6 weeks on the shelf, and Luka is doing everything possible to shave that timeline down.

Without him, the Lakers are in trouble. Luka has been leading the league in scoring, and with Austin Reaves also sidelined, LA just dropped from the 3 seed to the 4 seed after the Nuggets passed them. The clock is ticking — if Luka can't go for Round 1, the Lakers' season might be over before it starts.
