Luka flew to Spain for stem cell and PRP injections on his Grade 2 hamstring strain.

Luka Doncic is in Spain receiving experimental treatments on his Grade 2 left hamstring strain, which he suffered in last Thursday's 134-96 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers star is getting a combination of stem cell injections, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, and other advanced regenerative techniques that are less restricted in Europe than in the United States.

Grade 2 hamstring strains typically require a monthlong recovery, which would sideline Doncic well into the first round of the playoffs. But according to Dr. Jesse Morse, the specialized treatments could cut that timeline to three to four weeks — potentially getting Luka back for the second round if the Lakers advance.

The timing is brutal. Austin Reaves is also dealing with a Grade 2 oblique strain from April 2nd. The Lakers are the 4 seed in the West but could be without both of their stars when the postseason tips off on April 18. It's the kind of scenario that turns a championship contender into a first-round exit.
