Final Day: All 30 Teams Play Tomorrow. Not a Single First-Round Series Is Set.
Here's how wild this season has been: we're heading into the final day of the regular season and not a single first-round playoff matchup is locked in.
In the East, the top four seeds are set — Detroit at 1, Boston at 2, New York at 3, Cleveland at 4 — but the 5 through 10 spots are still chaos. Toronto, Orlando, and Philadelphia are in a three-way fight for the last guaranteed playoff spot. The Raptors clinch with a win OR losses by both Orlando and Philly. The Sixers need a win AND losses from both Toronto and Orlando. And Joel Embiid is still recovering from emergency appendicitis surgery, so Philly's doing this without their franchise player.
Out West, OKC and San Antonio have the 1 and 2 seeds locked. But the 3-4 battle between the Lakers and Nuggets goes down to the wire. L.A. clinches the 3-seed with a win over Utah and a Nuggets loss to the Spurs. The Play-In Tournament tips off Tuesday, April 14 on Prime Video. The playoffs begin Saturday, April 18.
All 30 teams play tomorrow. Every game matters. This is the best final weekend the NBA has had in years.
