Final Week: 9 Teams Clinched, Seeds Still Up for Grabs

Nine in. Plenty still to play for.

The 2025-26 regular season ends April 12 and the playoff picture is mostly set at the top but chaotic everywhere else. In the East, Detroit has locked up the 1 seed — yes, the Pistons — with Boston, New York, and Cleveland also clinched. The 5-through-10 seeds are still live. In the West, OKC, San Antonio, LA, Denver, and Houston are in, but seeding is a mess. The Lakers' injuries could drop them from 3 to 5. Denver's eight-game heater has them knocking on the door.

The Play-In Tournament runs April 14-17, with the first round starting April 18. Key dates: teams in seeds 7-10 will fight for the final four spots in each conference.

Biggest storylines for the final five days: Can the Lakers hold the 3 seed without Luka and Reaves? Will the Warriors' Curry return spark a late push into the Play-In? And does anyone want to draw a fully healthy Nuggets team in Round 1?
