Detroit is the 1 seed in the East for the first time since 2007

The Detroit Pistons are the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference — a sentence nobody would have believed two years ago. Detroit clinched the top spot with a dominant 116-93 win over the 76ers in Philadelphia on Saturday, their third straight win at the Wells Fargo Center.

Tobias Harris led with 19 points and Daniss Jenkins had 16 points and 14 assists in the blowout. But the real story is what this team has done without Cade Cunningham, who suffered a collapsed lung and has been out for weeks. Detroit has gone 7-2 in his absence, with both losses coming in overtime. That's not just depth — that's culture.

At 57-21, the Pistons haven't been this good since the Going to Work era. The last time they held the 1 seed was 2007. Now they'll have home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. If Cade returns healthy, this team could be the biggest threat to come out of the East.
