The 2025-26 NBA regular season ends Sunday, April 12, and the playoff picture is nearly complete — but the final seeding battles are intense.

In the West, the top six are set: Thunder (1), Spurs (2), Nuggets (3), Lakers/Rockets (4/5), Wolves (6). The play-in is locked with the Suns guaranteed the 7-seed and the Warriors stuck at 10. Portland and the Clippers will fight for 8 and 9.

The East is where it gets wild. Detroit (1), Boston (2), New York (3), and Cleveland (4) are the top four, but seeds 5 through 10 are a dogfight. The Hawks, Raptors, Sixers, Hornets, Magic, and Heat are all within a few games of each other, and the difference between a guaranteed playoff spot and the play-in — or even missing the postseason entirely — could come down to the final day.

The SoFi Play-In Tournament runs April 14-17, with the first round of the playoffs tipping off April 18.
