Thunder Clinch Best Record in NBA at 64-16 Despite Loss to Clippers
The Oklahoma City Thunder have officially locked up the No. 1 overall seed and home-court advantage throughout the 2026 NBA Playoffs — their second consecutive 60-win season. At 64-16, they own the best record in the league by a comfortable margin.
Ironically, the clinch came on a night they lost. Kawhi Leonard torched them for 34 points on six made threes as the Clippers pulled off the upset. But it didn't matter — OKC had already built such an insurmountable lead in the standings that the math worked out regardless.
SGA, Chet Holmgren, and this Thunder core are no longer the future. They're the present. They're the defending champions. And now they have the best record in basketball for the second year running heading into a playoff run where they'll have home court in every round. The West runs through Oklahoma City — again.
