Thunder clinch the #1 seed for the third straight year after crushing the Clippers 128-110.
The Oklahoma City Thunder clinched the #1 overall seed for the third consecutive year with a dominant 128-110 win over the LA Clippers. Chet Holmgren was the star, putting up 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists on an absurd 10-of-13 shooting from the field.
This puts OKC in truly elite historical company. Only five other franchises have ever three-peated as the NBA's top seed: the '84-'88 Celtics, '84-'90 Lakers, '96-'98 Bulls, '08-'10 Lakers, and '15-'17 Warriors. The Thunder are now the sixth — and the youngest core to ever do it, led by SGA, Holmgren, and Jalen Williams.
At 64 wins with two games left, OKC has been the most dominant regular-season team in the NBA for three years running. The question, as always, is whether they can finally translate that into a championship. Last year's second-round exit still stings.
