Thunder Clinch No. 1 Overall Seed — Holmgren Drops 30 in Win Over Clippers
The defending champs just made it official. Oklahoma City clinched the best record in the NBA.
Chet Holmgren was unstoppable against the Clippers on Wednesday, pouring in 30 points as the Thunder rolled to a 128-110 victory at Intuit Dome. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 20 points and 11 assists in a performance that felt more like a playoff warmup than a regular season game.
OKC is now 64-16, the best record in the league by a comfortable margin. They've won 19 of their last 20 games. The Thunder will have homecourt advantage through every round of the playoffs as they chase back-to-back titles — something no team has done since the Warriors in 2017-18.
The Clippers hung around early but had no answer for Holmgren's length and shooting touch. LA is locked into the Play-In Tournament and will need to win their way into the bracket. For OKC, the only question now is matchups.
