Thunder Clinch No. 1 Overall Seed as Holmgren Drops 30
The Oklahoma City Thunder are officially the NBA's top dog — again. Chet Holmgren erupted for 30 points and 14 rebounds, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 20 points and 11 assists, and OKC clinched the best record in the NBA with a 128-110 demolition of the LA Clippers on Wednesday night.
Holmgren was unconscious early, pouring in 24 first-half points and building a 25-point cushion before the Clippers could blink. Jalen Williams chipped in 18 points for the defending champions, who improve to 64-16 and will have homecourt advantage throughout the entire postseason.
This is the third straight season OKC has locked up the West's No. 1 seed. They've won 19 of their last 20 games heading into the final weekend of the regular season. The message is clear: the Thunder aren't just defending their title — they're daring anyone to come take it.
