Wembanyama Exits With Rib Contusion — Spurs Still Hit 60 Wins

Victor Wembanyama left the Spurs' 115-102 win over the 76ers with a left rib contusion after a collision with Paul George near half court. He had 17 points, five rebounds, and three blocks before heading to the locker room.

The Spurs won anyway — and hit 60 wins for the first time since 2016-17. Stephon Castle picked up the slack with another triple-double as San Antonio proved they can win without their franchise cornerstone. That's a terrifying thought for the rest of the West.

But there's a catch. Wembanyama needs to play at least 20 minutes in one of the Spurs' final three games to maintain eligibility for postseason awards. His status for Portland (Wednesday), Dallas (Friday), and Denver (Sunday) is unknown. The Spurs aren't going to rush him — they've already clinched a top seed. But the MVP conversation gets complicated if he can't play.
