Aces host Mercury TODAY in 2025 Finals rematch — Wilson chasing 3-peat MVP

Matinee #2 today: Aces vs Mercury at 3:30 PM ET on ABC. T-Mobile Arena, Vegas. It's a straight rematch of last year's Finals — and last year's Finals weren't competitive. The Aces swept the Mercury 4-0 in the league's first-ever best-of-seven WNBA Finals series, capping it off with a 97-86 Game 4 to win their third title in four years.

A'ja Wilson, last year's Finals MVP, is now chasing history of a different kind. If she wins regular-season MVP this year, she becomes the first player in WNBA history to win it three years in a row. Wilson averaged 28.5/11.8/2 blocks in the Finals last fall — there is no answer for her right now.

The Mercury get to start the rematch without the player who was supposed to help them flip it. Satou Sabally walked in free agency to the Liberty in February. Phoenix has Alyssa Thomas and Kahleah Copper, but Vegas has the reigning MVP plus Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray. The line in Vegas: Aces -7.5. The W rolls into matinee #2 with the title belt on the line — even in May.
