Clark vs Bueckers TODAY in Indianapolis — first regular-season meeting of their pro careers

It's the matchup the W has been waiting for. Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers, on the same court, in a regular-season game that counts. Today, 1 PM ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, on ABC. They've never met as pros — Bueckers missed last summer's Wings-Fever games as a rookie too injured to suit up.

Clark hasn't played a regular-season WNBA game since July 15, 2025, when she tore her right groin and missed the rest of the year. That's 297 days of rehab. Over her last two preseason games she scored 33 in 29 minutes on 7-of-10 shooting and looked like vintage Clark. She averaged 16.5/5/8.8 in just 13 games last year.

Worth noting: GMs in the anonymous league survey actually voted Bueckers (5 votes) over Clark (3) as the player they'd build a franchise around — a direct shot at Clark after her injury-riddled sophomore year. Bueckers is coming off Rookie of the Year and now has No. 1 pick Azzi Fudd next to her in the backcourt. The Wings beat the Fever 95-80 in the preseason behind Bueckers' 20 first-half points. Indiana wants the rematch. As Bueckers said this week: "The greatest way to show respect is to compete."
