Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese rewrote WNBA history hours apart on opening Saturday

Angel Reese followed Saturday night in Minnesota. In her Dream debut, Reese went for 11 points and 14 rebounds (9 of them offensive) with 3 blocks — including a buzzer-beating swat to seal a 91-90 win over the Lynx. That double-double was her 50th career double-double, in just her 65th career game. The previous record was Tina Charles in 75. Reese took the mark off a generational rebounder by 10 games.

It's the kind of split-screen WNBA opening weekend the league has been engineering for two years — and it actually delivered. Clark is the franchise pillar the GM survey just publicly doubted (they ranked Paige Bueckers ahead of her at 47%-33%). Reese is the rebounding outlier who keeps being told her stats don't translate to wins. On May 9, they both wrote their answer into the books.
