Knicks 108, Sixers 102 — New York up 2-0 but OG Anunoby grabs hamstring

Joel Embiid sat out, and the Sixers showed up anyway. They just couldn't finish. The Knicks closed Game 2 on a late run to win 108-102 at MSG and take a 2-0 series lead, but the night was overshadowed by OG Anunoby grabbing his right hamstring with under three minutes left and limping straight to the locker room.

Jalen Brunson went for 26, Karl-Anthony Towns put up 20/10/7, and Anunoby — before the injury — had 24 points in 37 minutes. Tyrese Maxey kept Philly afloat with 32 against a roster missing its MVP. Tyrese had Philly within four with 90 seconds left before New York's defense closed the door.

Shams reported postgame that Anunoby has a hamstring strain, day-to-day, questionable for Game 3 Friday in Philly. That's the worry the Knicks have been dodging all year. New York is a wing-heavy team — they can survive without Embiid showing up across the floor, but losing OG against a healthy Maxey for an extended stretch is a different problem entirely.
