Mercury rout Aces 99-66 to spoil Las Vegas' ring night

The Aces got their rings before tip. Then Phoenix took everything else.

The Mercury beat Las Vegas 99-66 at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday — a 33-point demolition in a 2025 Finals rematch where the script was supposed to be a title celebration. Instead, the only thing Vegas got to celebrate was the pregame ceremony where they collected their second championship rings in three years. Alyssa Thomas led Phoenix with 20 points, the kind of methodical Thomas night where the Aces had no answer.

This is a statement. Las Vegas is chasing a fourth title in five years and the Mercury just kicked the door in on opening day. A'ja Wilson and the Aces had a full offseason to ride the high. Phoenix re-signed Thomas, kept Kahleah Copper, brought back DeWanna Bonner — and the continuity showed. A 33-point margin in a Finals rematch is not noise. The Mercury are back in the title conversation, and the team that just got rings spent its ring night down by 30.
