Wemby joins Kareem, Shaq, Hakeem with 39/15/5 — then ref Tony Brothers nearly came to blows with Chris Finch

Spurs 115, Wolves 108 — and Victor Wembanyama just dropped one of the most statistically dominant playoff games in the modern era. 39 points, 15 rebounds, 5 blocks on 13-of-18 shooting. The best playoff game of his career, in his 9th playoff game.

Wemby is now the fourth player ever to post 35+ points, 15+ rebounds, and 5+ blocks in an NBA playoff game — joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (2 times), Shaquille O'Neal (3), and Hakeem Olajuwon (3). It's the 9th instance of the feat since blocks were first tracked in 1974. And he beat all three legends to it: Olajuwon needed 9 playoff games, Kareem needed 42, Shaq needed 67. Stephon Castle stuffed a 13/12 line. Anthony Edwards dropped 35 for Minnesota — but Julius Randle went 1-of-7 again and ghosted in another fourth quarter.

Then the postgame became the story. With 5:09 left in Q4 and the game on the line, Chris Finch tried to call a timeout. Crew chief Tony Brothers — standing right next to him — looked his way and ignored him for three seconds before granting it. During the timeout, Brothers walked over toward the Wolves bench to keep arguing, players had to step in and physically hold the official back. Finch postgame: "Pretty unprofessional, huh? I had called it three seconds earlier and I wanted the timeout and I said, 'I want my three seconds back.' Because he clearly heard me." Brothers walking *toward* a coach is not a thing referees do. Spurs up 2-1. Game 4 Sunday at Target Center.
