Wembanyama sets playoff blocks record — 12 swats, triple-double, Spurs still lose

Wemby only needed three quarters to match the NBA's single-game playoff blocks record of 10, then stuffed Anthony Edwards at the rim minutes into the fourth to break it. He finished with 12 blocks, 15 rebounds, and 11 points — his first career playoff triple-double, and just the third triple-double in playoff history that featured blocks (since the league started tracking them in 1973-74).

Then the Spurs lost. 104-102. Wemby went 0-for-8 from three — the most misses from deep without a make by any player in Spurs playoff history. San Antonio's offense couldn't keep up with a Minnesota team that got Anthony Edwards back from injury for 18 points.

The block tape is legitimately not from this planet. The Spurs still need someone besides their 22-year-old generational unicorn to actually score. Game 2 is Wednesday in San Antonio.
