WNBA's 30th season tips tomorrow — Sun at Liberty, then Clark vs. Bueckers

The wait is over. The WNBA's 30th-anniversary season tips tomorrow night, May 8, with a triple-header on ION: Sun at Liberty in Brooklyn (7:30 ET), Toronto Tempo at Washington Mystics in their first-ever regular season game, and Storm at Golden State Valkyries on the West Coast. It's the first season with 15 teams — the Tempo and the Portland Fire joining as expansion squads.

Saturday is the marquee. Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever host the reigning Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings at 1 PM ET on ABC. Wings star Arike Ogunbowale, who had her February battery charge dropped this week, is expected to play.

The league enters Year 30 with two new franchises, Hailey Van Lith starting over for the third time, Sabrina Ionescu out, Caitlin Clark cleared, and the GMs already calling Bueckers their No. 1 franchise pick. The basketball can finally do the talking.
