WNBA Injury Watch: Ionescu MRI Clean, Boston Cleared, Martin and Hull Out
Two days from tip and the WNBA injury report is mostly good news. Sabrina Ionescu rolled her ankle in the Liberty's preseason finale and the city held its breath. The MRI on Monday came back clean — no significant damage. She'll miss at least the first two weeks of the season as a precaution and be reevaluated, but New York avoided the disaster scenario.
Less rosy: Valkyries guard Kate Martin is out 3-6 weeks with a Grade 2 quad strain, missing Golden State's Friday opener at Seattle. The Fever's Lexie Hull has been dealing with hamstring tightness since training camp — she missed all three preseason games and is officially questionable for Saturday's opener vs. Dallas, though she said Monday she felt great and is "easing back in."
Better news in Indianapolis: Aliyah Boston was cleared and made her 2026 preseason debut Saturday vs. Nigeria after sitting out earlier games with a leg issue from Unrivaled. Caitlin Clark also got cleared after a kneecap scare in the Wings preseason game. The Fever look healthy heading into the most-anticipated opener in years.
