Caitlin Clark is good to go.
Caitlin Clark fell hard on her kneecap in last week's preseason loss to the Dallas Wings, took the rest of that game off, and gave Indiana fans 24 hours of heart attacks. Then she walked into Tuesday's practice fine. No overnight swelling, no follow-up tests, no setback. Stephanie White cleared her for Saturday's home opener against Paige Bueckers and the Wings — 1 PM ET on ABC.
That opener is the WNBA's marketing dream. The 2024 No. 1 pick vs. the 2025 No. 1 pick. Reigning Rookie of the Year vs. the player who beat her out for the GM-survey franchise vote this week. Bueckers led the Wings to a 2-0 preseason; Clark missed the back end of Indiana's preseason with both knee and groin issues but says she feels "great."
The W's 30th-anniversary season tips Friday night when the Sun visit Brooklyn at 7 PM ET, the first of three openers including Toronto Tempo's debut against Washington. Two new expansion teams. New CBA. New media deal. New everything. The league has never had this much oxygen.
